When I was eleven years old, I attended a revival at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, TN with my grandfather. He was the helper for their revival. I had been under conviction for some time and had been seeking the Lord. The night I was saved many good people had been giving their testimonies and telling how the Lord had saved them. I knew that I didn’t have the kind of experience they had been talking about. The Lord deepened my conviction that night until I could not stand in that pew any longer. I ran and fell in the altar, praying with all my heart for the Lord to forgive me and save my soul. I don’t know how long I was in that altar, but I found myself on my feet, hugging everyone around me, and my burden was gone. I’ve never doubted my salvation since that night.
The preachers never got to preach a sermon that night, but God’s spirit filled that place. I can never praise Him enough for saving me.
